Xstrahl in action: Low-Dose Radiation Therapy for Benign Painful Skeletal Disorders

September 20, 2017

Xstrahl’s  therapy systems can be used  to treat painful benign skeletal disorders. The use of radiotherapy has recently been shown to be an effective method for the treatment  of  painful  degenerative  disorders of joints in elderly patients,

in a recent article in the renowned International Journal of Radiation Oncology  researchers from the Department of Radiotherapy and Radiation Oncology (Franziskus Hospital Bielefeld), the Center for Radiotherapy and Radiation Oncology (Hamburg), the Department of Radiotherapy and Radiation Oncology (Marien Hospital Herne, Ruhr University Bochum), the Institute of Medical Informatics and Biometry (University Rostock), the Department of Radiotherapy, (Lippe Hospital Lemgo), and the Private Practice for Radiotherapy RheinMainNahe, in Germany reported as follows

Because of the delayed onset of analgesic effects, low-dose radiotherapy results in a significantly improved long-term efficacy in comparison with the results immediately following radiotherapy.

In view of the aging population and the corresponding increase in painful degenerative disorders of joints, low dose radiotherapy offers a low-risk, genuinely conservative, non-invasive therapeutic alternative for elderly patients.

The Xstrahl 200 and Xstrahl 300 medical therapy systems are widely used throughout Europe in the treatment of benign painful conditions.
