Xstrahl’s success is made possible by a team with varied skills and responsibilities. Throughout the research, development and production, our purchasing team works hard to ensure we have the materials we need to get all our jobs done every day. For 11 years, Andrew Dixon has been a part of our purchasing team. In keeping with our Xstrahl values, he’s always ready to lend a hand to get the job done and takes great pride in helping change the lives of the patients we serve.
What do you do here at Xstrahl?
My main role is purchasing, but I do like to get involved in other areas of the business. I’m not afraid to roll my sleeves up or get my hands dirty to provide a helping hand.
What motivated you to start working with Xstrahl?
I was not happy in my previous job and a friend of mine spotted the opportunity at Xstrahl. I believed that I could have a future with Xstrahl and I am still here, 11 years later.
What’s the best thing about your job?
I have to say that I do enjoy working at Xstrahl; we have a good team here and help and support is always there if you need it. This year especially, as we’ve all faced the global pandemic together, I’ve realized what an important role Xstrahl plays in my life and also to support patients with less invasive radiation-based therapies.
What’s the weirdest job you ever had before working here?
Can’t say that I have had one. I have always been in purchasing and, in my early days, I worked for a tent manufacturer and that was enjoyable— now I’m part of our mission to eradicate cancer—how things have changed!
What’s the best thing about working for Xstrahl?
Xstrahl is a forward-thinking company and recently has really pushed in developing products for the future, investing in both new products and high calibre staff. This gives me a sense of security and the thought of a long and bright future at Xstrahl. I take pride in explaining to people what we do at Xstrahl and how our systems can help to change lives for the better.
What can you be found doing outside of work?
I love the countryside and enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities. I spend a lot of time at Cannock Chase, a local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
I am a keen mountain biker, I love taking my dogs for long walks and I am a member of a local Squash Club.
