Keloid scarring is a common benign skin condition that results from skin incision or injury. While keloids generally do not pose health concerns, some may be unsightly, tender, itchy, uncomfortable, or require removal. At this time, there is no standard of care for the treatment of keloids and treatment options offer disparate results.
In this session, Dr. Richard Shaffer, clinical oncologist with Genesis Care, will describe the use of superficial radiotherapy as a non-invasive treatment for keloids and highlight treatment outcomes.
