Mitigate health and safety risks linked to radioactive sources
Developed to substitute cesium sources, the Xstrahl CIXD irradiation cabinet eliminates the high cost and risk associated with such devices. Integrating the irradiation chamber and system electronics within a single enclosure, radiation is delivered using two X-ray tubes (one positioned on the top and one on the bottom of the enclosure) with the focal spot of one meter (39 inches) apart. The result is a homogenous distribution of the dose desired, enabling researchers to stack cell culture plates and achieve homogenous bone marrow ablation in small animals.
