SITESite-Specific Techniques Covered
SITE.01 Lung irradiation
Single mouse and rat, partial or whole, and multiple-mice setups.
- Animal anesthesia
- Setup and immobilization using custom-designed 3D-printed animal stages
- Imaging, isocenter placement, and targeting
- Treatment planning
- Collimator selection, shielding, and radiation delivery
SITE.02 Heart irradiation
Whole or partial, with or without contrast, CT-targeted.
- All Lung irradiation steps, plus:
- Use of contrast agent, or a higher-resolution CT protocol
SITE.03 Abdomen irradiation
Intestine, pancreas, and liver with fiducial marker; whole abdomen.
- All Lung irradiation steps, plus:
- Surgically implanted fiducial markers to place the isocenter for partial abdomen RT
SITE.04 Brain irradiation
Partial brain, small lobe.
- All Lung irradiation steps, plus:
- Special immobilization tools for reproducible positioning and treatment
SITE.05 Subcutaneous tumor irradiation
Flank, thigh, shoulder, and mammary pad locations.
- Most Lung irradiation steps, except imaging — targeting is typically manual, using SARRP’s onboard lasers
SITE.06 Skin / bone irradiation
Tibia, femur, leg, and related sites.
- All Lung irradiation steps, plus:
- Use of CBCT to identify isocenter placement and targeting
