The Xstrahl CIXD dual tube X-ray irradiator provides the maximum beam output and dose homogeneity.

CIXD Cabinet Irradiator
Meeting the needs of medical and biological research, the CIXD is a self-contained cabinet incorporating the irradiation chamber and system electronics in one enclosure. In addition to removing the health and safety burden associated with the use of radioactive sources, the Xstrahl CIXD provides a safer, simpler, and less costly alternative to radioisotope irradiators for radiation exposure studies. Composed of two X-ray tubes (one positioned on the top and one on the bottom of the enclosure) with the focal spot of one meter (39 inches) apart, the emission of photons in a parallel opposed fashion results in a homogenous distribution of the dose desired. This feature enables the researcher to stack cell culture plates and achieve homogenous bone marrow ablation in small animals. An adjustable specimen shelf is provided in the isocenter offering a dynamic radiation field. Alignment lasers can be incorporated for visual confirmation of the center of the radiation field.
Access to the irradiation chamber is via two parallel sliding doors with CDRH compliant safety interlocks. A leaded glass window is integrated so the researcher can monitor any specimen from just outside the irradiator. Multiple user logins provide customizable settings specific for your experiment, and a remote diagnostics function enables quick technical support and programming assistance.
